Are you or a kid interested in their first blacksmithing experience? Come sign up for this 3 hour workshop! Signups are on our calendar at bereamakerspace.org/calendar
That's it, we're adding more dates for our Interde That's it, we're adding more dates for our Interdependence Day build parties. If you can't make it Thursday or Friday, come over Saturday or Sunday and help us out! This is a free event as we work to finish the build out of our puppets this weekend!
Turtle krew work continues this week! We have 8 of Turtle krew work continues this week! We have 8 of our 12 puppeteers committed to walking the Interdependence Day parade with us on July 5th - can we count you in to man a 9 foot tall snapping turtle? Come to our next events this Thursday and Friday at 1 and help us get these guys built!
We've been hard at work on preparing for our build We've been hard at work on preparing for our build parties for the Interdependence Day Parade. Interested in being on the Turtle Krew? We're looking for folk who want to help paper mache, sew, assemble auxillary instruments and costumes, and possibly don one of these guys at the event on July 5th! Check the flyer for start times (come in whenever, we'll be working until we stop wanting to each of those days).
Don's Tools and Stools weekend workshop was awesom Don's Tools and Stools weekend workshop was awesome! We spent two days building bow saws and some rustic furniture. Incredible use of recycled material and traditional technique was on display this weekend, and folk left with new knowledge of hand tools, woodworking, and the experience of getting to hang out with Don Weber once again. Wanna do that too? Don has a blacksmithing workshop this coming weekend to build some camping gear! Sign up on our website at bereamakerspace.org/calendar
We have event dates up for our parade build! Want We have event dates up for our parade build! Want to participate in a gaggle of loud-ass snapping turtles walking down the street on July 5th? Join our krew! We're building: 12 backpack turtles Jingling Johnnys Noise Makers and costumes to accompany! Any amount of help is appreciated! The starting time each day is the only hard schedule. We're working til we don't want to. Paper Mache, Costume Making, and more will be done this month. Jess has been building out the general hard bits of these costumes, and we need your help to finish these (and pilot??). We'll figure out any sort of choreography at this time as well. Are you REALLY sure you want to wear a backpack puppet? Then let us know directly at info@bereamakerspace.org - we need at least 10!
